Get Involved

Volunteering Opportunities

RCCS is run by the community, for the community. Our success is down to the hard work that so many people have put into their community pub.

There are so many ways in which you can get involved with the running of your pub.

Volunteering your time to one of these projects is extremely rewarding. You will meet new people, learn new skills and have a direct influence on the way in which your community pub is run.

Building Maintenance/Refurbishment

Our volunteers have undertaken a major refurbishment of our interior and outside spaces, transforming the pub and ensuring that it will be around for the community to enjoy for many years to come.

If you are 'handy' or have any special skills in DIY or construction etc. why not consider joining our team of dedicated volunteers? Or maybe you have limited experience but would like to meet new people and learn something new? Either way, get in touch to find out more about our upcoming projects

Finance

Our long-term success and sustainability depends upon good financial governance. To achieve this, we are dependent upon the hard work of skilled members of our community who meet regularly to review and plan our finances.

If you have special skills in this area, new members of this group are always welcome and help ensure that we are able to keep our community pub going for many years to come.

Join the Management Committee

Every year, we hold elections to our Management Committee and are always looking for interested people with a range of backgrounds and skills to stand for election. If you want to get more involved in the day-to-day running of the Society, want to meet new people and are up for a new challenge, get in touch early for a conversation about what is involved.

Community Events Planning

Ye Olde Cross is proud to be More Than a Pub and is dedicated to using the premises for a wide range of community activities and events, whether it be regular groups or special events for the benefit of the community

If you have a creative side or good ideas about what you would like to see taking place in your community, why not join our Community and Fundraising group?

Anyone who is interested is welcome and we value everyone's contributions towards making the Cross a thriving community pub.

Communications and Social Media

It's really important that people in the community find out about what is going on in their community pub.

If you have experience or skills in communications or running social media campaigns, we are always interested in hearing from you! Get in touch below to find out how you could help.

Other Volunteering Opportunities

There are various occasions where we need additional volunteers, whether it be helping out on fundraising stalls, ushering at our Community Cinema, serving soup at the Christmas Carols or tidying up after events etc. We would be extremely grateful for anyone who is happy to be included in a pool of regular volunteers who can be contacted to help out before such events.
